Dorothy Lee Gaddy

Wadesboro - Dorothy Lee Gaddy, 92, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at McWhorter Hospice House in Monroe.

Services will be Monday 11:00 AM January 29, 2024 at Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. J.D. Moffett officiating. Family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home.  Interment will be private in Wightman Methodist Church Cemetery in the Burnsville Community of Anson County.

Dorothy was born October 11, 1931 in the Burnsville Community of Anson County and was a daughter of the late Ray Terrell and Isabell Parker Lee.   She was a 1949 graduate of Burnsville High School, Dot, as she was called by her many friends never met a stranger.  She enjoyed visiting with friends and family on long telephone conversations.  Dot loved spending time at the farm in Cedar Hill, where she was a member of Cedar Hill United Methodist Church.

 She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Richard Gaddy of Wadesboro, her daughter, Marsha Gaddy of Mint Hill; her sister, Marilyn Mitchum of Matthews, brother, Frank Lee and wife, Sarah Ann of Norwood, her sisters-in-law, Joyce Lee of Norwood, Mary Shepherd Trexler of Wadesboro and Sue Durham of Apex; and many nieces and nephews and their families.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Marshall Gaddy and her brother, Julian Lee.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wightman Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 282 Gaddys Ferry Rd., Polkton, NC 28135 ~ Hospice of Union County 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd. Monroe, NC 28110, or to the charity of your choice.
