ROCKINGHAM - Mrs. Dorothy Pendry Perdue Lampley, 80, of Rockingham died Friday, September 26, 2014 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Funeral services will be 3:00pm Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Sweet Haven Church with Rev. Mitchell Roller officiating.
The family will greet friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Tuesday at the church and other times at the home.
There will be a graveside service at 4:00pm Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Hall's United Methodist Church Cemetery in Elliston, VA.
Dot was born May 31, 1934 in Elliston, VA a daughter of the late Orville A. and Annie Ruth Handy Pendry. She retired from Wal Mart in Christiansburg, VA as a greeter and was a member of Sweet Haven Church.
Surviving are her husband, Walter Lampley, Jr. of the home; her children, Stephen (Jean) Perdue of Oklahoma City, OK, Gary Lampley and Gene (Bernice) Lampley both of Rockingham; her grandchildren, Lance (Judith) Perdue of Houston, TX and their children, Bella and Lyla, Elizabeth Perdue of Oklahoma City, OK, Shelby (John) Johnson of Laurel Hill, Amy (Jason) Stonesifer of Southern Pines, Gene (Dana) Lampley and Michell Oliver both of Rockingham and Brad Frazier of Michigan and their families and her brother and sister, Orville Pendry of Ellliston, VA and Marjorie Travis of Salem, VA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Rev. Jack Perdue, her son, Jack Perdue, Jr. and her granddaughter, Lori Perdue Reiss.
