Dorothy Ann Lear

Wadesboro - Mrs. Dorothy Ann Lear went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at her home following a very courageous journey with cancer. Funeral services will be 3:00pm Friday, April 9, 2021 at Faith Baptist Church in Lilesville. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends Thursday, April 8, 2021 at the funeral home from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. Dorothy was born September 3, 1978 in Richmond County, NC and was the daughter of Mary Lou Williams Connelly and the late Floyd Gerald Connelly. She was a graduate of Anson High School and worked at Rayfield's Meat Center in Wadesboro. She had formerly worked at Papa Joe's and Jone's Creek Restaurants in Wadesboro. She had a great faith and trust in God and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Phillip Dewitt Lear; her sons, Phillip Alan Lear and Tyler Seth Lear both of Wadesboro; her mother, Mary Lou Connelly and husband, Bobby "Pee Wee" Black of Wadesboro and her brother, Jerry Lee Connelly of Wadesboro. Dorothy loved her family with all her heart, her sons were truly the highlight of her life. She was an inspiration to all who knew her, especially through her courageous battle with cancer. Her beautiful smile and bright eyes were an encouragement to others, as well. In the restaurants where she was employed, she had a way of making every single customer feel as if they were the only one's to be served. She simply loved people unconditionally. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 3520 Stanback Ferry Ice Plant Rd., Wadesboro, NC 28170. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home and online condolences may be made at www.leavittfh.com
