WADESBORO - Mrs. Dorothy 'Dot' McLaurin Ramsey, 80, died Friday, May 29, 2015 at Anson Health and Rehabilitation in Wadesboro.
Funeral services will be 3:00pm Monday, June 1, 2015 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Knotts and Rev. Donnie Helms officiating. A private interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Monday.
Dot was born May 13, 1935 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late Hugh Duncan McLaurin and Laura Covington McLaurin. She had worked for a number of years at Ballet Hosiery and later managed the Fast Fare Store in Wadesboro. Following the store's closing she worked at the Merita Bread Store in Rockingham until her retirement. She was a member of North Wadesboro Baptist Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Debbie Carpenter of Wadesboro; and her grandchildren, Dusty Carpenter of Wadesboro and Gina Carpenter Boteju and husband, Indy of Irving, TX.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Adam 'June' Ramsey, Jr. and brothers, Hugh McLaurin, Jr. and Robert McLaurin.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
