Wadesboro - Mr. Edmund Preston "Bones" Lewis, Sr., was born February 12, 1956 in Anson County and was a son of the late Thomas Frank Lewis and the late Ezra Dale Steele Lewis. He passed from his earthly life on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the age of 61, while a resident at Ambassador Health and Rehabilitation in Wadesboro.
Preston was a 1974 graduate of Bowman High School and confessed Christ as his savior at an early age and often attended Kesler Chapel AME Zion Church in Wadesboro. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge # 772 in Wadesboro.
Preston was retired from Anson County Waste Water Department with 30 years of service.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters, Molisha Lewis and Jasmine Lewis; his son, Edmund Preston Lewis, Jr and their mother, Bertha McLendon; his son, Travis (Natasha) Little; his step-son, Brandon Liles and his mother, Martha "Joyce" Lewis; his son, Victor Witherspoon and his daughter, Ston Leak; he leaves behind 8 grandchildren and his sisters and brother, Ophia Dale Liles, Edith McLendon, Shirley Rose McLendon and Oscar Lewis.
Also surviving are a great aunt, Helen Ashe of Los Angeles, CA; a special nephew, Preston Lamont (Chanda) Lewis and a special niece, Delphine McLendon and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, Masonic Brethren, Anson County Co-Workers and close friends, Gay Lomax, Rev. Donnie Wall, Stan Rorie, Alexander Gaddy, Jr. Robert Terry, Kenny Simon, Gary Kendall and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Saturday, November 11, 2017 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. The family will greet friends beginning at 12:30pm.
