WADESBORO - Mrs. Edna 'Ebbie' Tice White, 89, died Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Ambassador Health and Rehab in Wadesboro.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Wednesday, July 2, 2014 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Dr. Robert L. Hunter, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Edna was born September 1, 1924 in Anson County, NC one of ten children born to the late John Franklin and Georgia Eddins Tice. She was a graduate of Wadesboro High School and attended Women's College in Greensboro, now University of North Carolina at Greensboro and was a member of First Baptist Church, Wadesboro. She was retired as the Register of Deeds for Anson County.
She loved gardening and was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. An avid bridge player for many years, she hosted her bridge club on several occasions after becoming a resident at Ambassador Health and Rehab.
Surviving are her twin daughters and sons-in-law, Anne and Robbie Brower of Matthews and Betty and Wayne Cadick of Colfax; her grandchildren, Ashley Brower, Katie Brower and Robert Brower, III all of Matthews and Molly Cadick of Colfax.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert 'Jay' White, whom she married on July 1, 1950 and her brothers and sisters, Hubert, Forris, John, Bill, Hazel and Ruby Tice, Cleo Ferree, Elizabeth 'Tot' Shuford and Margaret Smith.
The family would like to express their sincere and heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Ambassador Health and Rehab for their exemplary and loving care given to Ebbie while she was a resident there and in their care. The Ambassador family became her extended family and for that we will remain forever grateful.
