Peachland - Mr. Edward Blair Davis, 67, died Friday, October 21, 2011, in CMC-Union, Monroe, NC.
Funeral services will be 4:00PM Wednesday in the Word of Life Church with Rev. Tommy McKenzie and Rev. Johnny Johnson officiating. The family will greet friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Leavitt Funeral Home.
Blair was born in Anson County on April 3, 1944, a son of the late Steve Edward and Fannie Lee High Davis. He had worked for a number of years at Southern Fabricators, Inc., the Square D Company and more recently for API Security.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Shirley Sims Davis of the home; his children, Edward Larry 'Lisa' Davis of Marshville, Vicky Davis of Rockingham, Bill Davis of the home, and Becky Spittle (Jimmy) Stover of Marshville; 13 grandchildren, Joanne Davis, Robin Davis, Jeffrey Blair Hobbs Davis, Christopher Dale Spittle, Kevin Dwayne Spittle, Laura Marie Spittle, Edwards Davis Jr, Michelle Diane Davis, James Blair Davis, Amanda Nicole Davis, Elizabeth Belk, Scott K. Belk, and Courtney Belk; and 8 great-grandchildren, Brittany Elizabeth Medina, Emily Rose Hildreth, Sabrina Blair Davis, Donny Ray Hildreth Jr., Jeremy Burtdett Hobbs, Joseph Shipley, Jacob Juarez, and Arianna Hidalgo-Belk.
Also surviving are his brothers and sister, Dale Davis of Peachland, Roger Davis and Alan Davis both of Polkton, Joe Davis of Marshville, and Betty Ann Manus of Peachland. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wilson Davis.
