LILESVILLE - Mr. Edward Cline Pope, 58, died Sunday, October 27, 2013 at his home.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Red Hill Baptist Church, Ansonville with Rev. Rodney Clements officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will greet friends Wednesday, October 30, 2013 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Leavitt Funeral Home, Wadesboro and other times at the home.
Cline was born January 25, 1955 in Anson County, NC a son of the late Ross and Ida Watkins Pope. He was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church, worked for 35 years with W.R. Bonsal Company and for 15 years with his son. He likened working with is son as being on vacation and a pleasure.
'Re-Cline' was a great story teller, he enjoyed being with his family and friends and especially making people laugh. He was a charter member of Coon Creek Fire Department, an annual participant in the Ansonville Homecoming Parade and was an honorary member of the Satellite Division of Ansonville Fire Department. His greatest accomplishment was that of being called PaPa.
Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Teresa Ingold Pope of the home; his son and daughter-in-law, Adam Cline and Ginger Pope of Lilesville; his grandchildren, Adaline, Maebry and Ross; his sisters, Betty Horan and Barbara Briles both of Wadesboro and Carolyn Scheid of LaQuinta, CA; and his sisters-in-law, Tammy Turner and Tobie Starnes both of Ansonville.
