Edwin Wallace Eddie Gleason

Norwood - Mr. Edwin W. Eddie Gleason, 83, formerly of Wadesboro, died Friday, January 27, 2017, at the Bill Hefner VA Medical Center Hospice House in Salisbury, NC. A memorial service to commemorate Eddies life will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Leavitt Funeral Home in Wadesboro, NC. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00PM. Born in Antwerp, NY on October 10, 1933, Eddie was the only child of Wallace John Gleason and Elma Pauline Stephenson Gleason. He served in both the US Army and Air Force and was a very proud veteran. Eddie was a retired truck driver. Survivors include his very special companion, Doris White of Norwood; a step-daughter, Nekole Brown Hinson of Wadesboro; and a step-granddaughter, Brittany Hinson of Peachland. In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his wife, Birdie Pigg Brown Gleason in 1996, and a step-son, Sean Brown.
