Edwin Martin Mr. Rossman, Sr

MCDONOUGH, GA - Mr. Edwin Martin Rossman, Sr., 70, died Friday, September 19, 2014 at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice in Marietta, GA. Funeral services will be 11:00am Wednesday, September 24, 2014 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home in Wadesboro, NC. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park, also in Wadesboro. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. There will also be a memorial service at a later date in Florida. Ed was born April 27, 1944 in Miami, FL a son of the late Aaron and Rita Dempsey Rossman. He was a retired law enforcement officer having last worked as a police officer with the City of East Point, GA. He was an avid hunter as well as a motorcycle and auto enthusiast. Ed especially enjoyed frequent visits with his grandchildren, who knew him as 'Papa.' Surviving are his loving wife of nearly 29 years, Billie Kirk Rossman, originally of Wadesboro, NC; his children, Ed Rossman, Jr. and wife Lori Ann of Falcon, CO, Shaun Rossman of Carrollton, GA and Michelle Roberts and husband, Ned of Tampa, FL; his grandchildren, Drew Rossman and wife, Shelly, Steffani Morrow and husband, Rob, Emmalyn Rossman and Finley and Georgia Roberts; and his great-grandson, Xander Rossman. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Margaret Rossman, Mike and Dianne Rossman and Rich and Annie Rossman and his sisters and brothers-in-law, Thelma and Victor Helton and Shirley and Don Cozine all of Florida; and his sister-in-law Suzanne Carpenter of Wadesboro, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
