WADESBORO – On Monday, November 8, 2021, Mrs. Elizabeth “Lib” Costner Liles, 87, went to be with her Lord while being cared for at Atrium Health Union in Monroe.
Lib’s family invites those who would like to attend to a graveside service which will be 2:00pm Saturday, November 13, 2021, in Anson Memorial Park with Rev. Randy Swaringen officiating.
Family and friends are welcome to visit at the home on Horton Road, following COVID 19 precautions and protocol.
Lib was born August 25, 1934, in Gaston County, NC being one of six children born to Jesse James Costner and Ruby Gilmore Costner. She worked to earn her General Education Development, high school diploma equivalency and attended other college classes at Anson Technical College.
She worked for nearly 50 years at Little Cotton Manufacturing, starting out in the spinning department and working her way up to be secretary for the plant manager. Following her retirement from Little Cotton, she worked at Wal-Mart in Wadesboro., retiring from customer service.
Lib was a faithful member of Cathedral Baptist Church in Wadesboro.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Connie Liles Curlee (Tony), Susan Liles Harrington (Robbie) and Ashley Liles (Mary Martha) all of Wadesboro; her grandchildren, Jaime Jarrell (Dallas), Zac Tarlton (Jennifer), Scottie Harrington (Brandy), Jace Liles and Krislyn Liles all of Wadesboro, Christy Stilwell (Travis) of Marshville and Mike Curlee (Lea) of Norwood; her great-grandchildren, Mason Tarlton, Bladen Harrington and Addison Jarrell all of Wadesboro; her brother, Buddy Costner (Lynda) of Harrisburg and a host of nieces and nephews and their families.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Milton V. “Son” Liles; her son-in-law, Sammy Harrington and her brother and sisters, Kenneth Costner, Faye Vaughn, Margaret Pigg and Doris Yem.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cathedral Baptist Church, 1215 Old Lileslville Rd., Wadesboro, NC 28170.
