Essie Lee Hough Oliver

Mrs. Essie Hough Oliver, 91, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at her son's home in Peachland. Graveside services will be 11:00AM Thursday, at Eastview Cemetery with Rev. Jimmie Furr officiating. The family will greet friends at Leavitt Funeral Home prior to the service beginning at 10:00AM. Essie was born in Anson County on December 25, 1919, a daughter of the late Frank and Ida Leary Hough. She retired from Little Cotton Mfg. having worked over 46 years there and was a member of Hanna United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Frances Griggs (Carl) of Wadesboro; a son, Willie Oliver, Jr. (Shirley) of Peachland; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Franklin Oliver, Sr. and her daughter, Willie Mae Phillips. Leavitt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
