WADESBORO – Mrs. Esther Parker Watts, 89, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 17, 2020.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday, June 21, 2020 at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Storz officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park.
The family will greet friends informally for 30 minutes prior to the service and other times at the home of her daughter, Lois Black in Beaver Dam Estates in Wadesboro.
Esther was born April 7, 1931 in Chesterfield County, SC and was a daughter of the late Dennis Parker and the late Maude Morris Parker. She grew up in Morven and was a graduate of Morven High School.
She enjoyed ceramics, arranging flowers, Tarheel Basketball, traveling, watching Tiger Wood play golf and spending time at Bojangles’s with her friends.
Esther simply enjoyed life, was a faithful member of Mt. Beulah Baptist Church and retired from Anson Pharmacy.
Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Lois and Freddie Black of Wadesboro, Carol Lee of Ansonville and Lynn and Bobby Burr of Little River, SC; her grandchildren, Ray Black (Karey) and Dr. Miriam Huntley (Dean) both of Matthews, Ricky Dawkins (Katie) of Lilesville, April Surratt (Brandon) of Ansonville and Sarah Burr of Little River, SC and her great-grandchildren, Caroline, Grayce, Miller, Jeri, Jordyn, Dalton, Karmen, Hunter, Taylor, Cason, Aubrey and Greyson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Joy Diggs and her brothers and sister, Dwight Parker, Ted Parker and Mariella Carpenter.
