Ethel McAlpine Mrs. Holliman

WADESBORO - Mrs. Ethel McAlpine Holliman, 89, died Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at her home. There will be a memorial service at 3:00pm Friday, April 12, 2013 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Ethel was born January 6, 1924 in Boston, MA a daughter of the late John and Hildur McAlpine. She was a retired school cafeteria worker. Surviving are her children, Jeanie (Howard) Cook of Tarboro, NC, Kathy (Danny) Pittman of Marion, NC, Jimmy (Shirl) MacDonald of Georgetown, KY, Buddy (Shelia) MacDonald of Colorado Springs, CO, Annie Jones of Oregon, Peg (Jim) MacDonald of Wadesboro, NC and David John Holliman of Bronx, NY; her special friend, Rito Rodgriquez of Goldsboro; 34 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Francis MacDonald and William Holliman and by her children, Billy, Roger, Wayne, James Duncan, Cheryl Ann, Kevin and David MacDonald and Linda Lynch. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 222 S Church St, Charlotte, NC 28202. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
