Eugenia Lea Register Jeanne Mrs. Price

WADESBORO - Mrs. Eugenia 'Jeanne' Lea Register Price, 58, died Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. There will be a celebration of Jeanne's life at 10:00am Saturday, June 20, 2015 in the gardens of First Presbyterian Church, Wadesboro. The family suggests casual attire for the celebration. Jeanne was born October 23, 1956 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late John James 'JJ' Register and Lucy Lea Dunlap Register. She was a graduate of Bowman High School Class of 1974, received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from East Carolina University in 1977 and later a Master's Degree of Language Arts from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1983. Jeanne devoted 30 years to her career in public education, having first taught English at Chesterfield Elementary School in Chesterfield, SC and later with Anson County Schools at Wadesboro Middle and Elementary School from 1979 until 2005, Assistant Principal at Wadesboro Elementary from 2005 until 2007 and Media, Instructional Technology and Assessment Director from 2007 until 2010. She was recognized as Teacher of the Year for 1996-1997. She touched the lives of many young children during her career and was an exemplary role model for new teachers in the school system. She was a life-long member of First Presbyterian Church, Wadesboro, where she was a session member and was supportive of the churches missions, ministry and food pantry. Active in community and civic opportunities, she was a member of Anson Women's League; Anson County Art's Council and had served as a board member and secretary. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Tau Chapter, a professional society for teachers and served as the editor of their newsletter. Surviving are her husband, James Edward Price; her children, Anna Kathleen (Tucker McElroy) Liles, Michael (Stephanie) Price and Stacy Price; her grandchildren, Annabell, Evelyn, Rosemary, Harrison and Ryder Price; her brother and sister-in-law, John James Register, Jr. and Kay; niece and nephew, Jennifer (Toby) McLaurin and Ronald (Cheri) Faulkner and her devoted canine companion and protector, Katarina 'Kat Kat'.
