ANSONVILLE - Mrs. Evelyn Matthews Martin, 90, died Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Ambassador Health and Rehab in Wadesboro.
Funeral services will be 3:00pm Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Red Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Rodney Clements officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service in the fellowship hall and other times at the Randall home.
Evelyn was born August 8, 1924 in Harnett County, NC a daughter of the late Charlie Holt and Bessie Dorman Matthews. She was retired from Acme Name Plate in Monroe and was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church.
She loved her family, friends and especially little children. Evelyn enjoyed pulling a practical joke on family and friends and this was evident with her good sense of humor. She was an avid bridge player and a great cook.
Surviving are her children, Tony (Pat) Martin and Priscilla (Benton) Randall both of Ansonville and Mike (Holly) Martin of Boring, OR; her grandchildren, Andy (Regina) Martin, Chloe (Peter) Sannikov, Justin Martin and Suzette (Arthur) Walters; her grandson-in-law, Paul Sikes; and her great-grandchildren, Jordan and Meredith Martin, Ashley and Abbey Sikes and Aaron and Ethan Walters and Alissa Sannikov..
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Lane Martin, her son, John Douglas Martin and her granddaughter, Jennifer Martin Sikes.
Evelyn's family is most grateful for the loving care she received while at Ambassador Health and Rehab.
