Evelyne Krug Clark

Concord - Evelyne Krug Clark, 95, formerly of Lilesville, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, December 1, 2024, in Concord NC.

There will be a memorial service at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, December 15th, 2024, at Forestville United Methodist Church with Rev. Sigrid E. Mottram officiating. A private interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends following the service in the church's Fellowship Hall.

Evelyne was born on March 13, 1929, in Schwenningen am Neckar, Germany, a daughter of the late, Erwin Krug and Katie Lehrian Krug of Germany. In 1952, Evelyne moved to the United States to be with her husband, John, and became a naturalized citizen in 1956. After relocating to Stanly County for a few years, they returned to Lilesville, where she eventually retired from working in textiles.

She was a member of Forestville United Methodist Church and an officer with the Cowan Club. 

Evelyne is survived by her children, Linda (Lou) Trometer of Albemarle, John Franklin Clark (Melissa) of Norwood, and Hannelore Lawson of Albemarle; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister Hannelore Erdt, brother Frieder Krug (Christine), both of Germany and brother Hans Krug (Susie) of Switzerland. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, John (Pappy) Alexander Clark of Lilesville, her daughter, June Alice Clark of Concord, and her brother, Roland Krug of France.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Forestville United Methodist Church, Hospice, or Heart Association.
