Ocean Isle Beach - Everette Hanna, 87, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC died on January 8, 2013 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice House in Bolivia, NC. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at Leavitt Funeral Home, Wadesboro with a graveside service following at Anson Memorial Park. Everette was born in Wadesboro, Anson County, NC on May 25, 1925, a son of the late Preston Ferrell and Rosa Brower Hanna. He served in the Navy during World War II, aboard a submarine. Everette worked for Burlington Industries and was owner and operator of Hanna's Exxon until his retirement. After retirement he worked part time for NAPA Auto Parts. Everette's hobbies were fishing and gardening vegetables and flowers. He was a 32nd degree Mason for more than 50 years, a lifetime member of both the VFW and the DAV. He is survived by his wife Cherrie Pratt Hanna of 65 years; his son, E. Alan Hanna and wife Gail; three granddaughters, Sandy, Melanie, Alison and husband David; four great-grandsons, Triston, Dylan, Andrew and Hunter; one brother, Jake Hanna and wife, Becky. He was preceded in death by his brother James Hanna and sisters Christine Lisenby and Lib Watts. Memorials may be made to SECU Hospice House of Brunswick, 955 Mercy Lane SE, Bolivia, NC 28422.
