WADESBORO - Mrs. Frances Phelps Lear, 78, died Thursday, September 10, 2015 at her home.
Services will be 4:00pm Sunday, September 13, 2015 by the graveside in Anson Memorial Park with Rev. Barry Gerald officiating.
The family will greet friends from 2:00pm until 3:30pm Sunday at Leavitt Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Frances was born March 13, 1937 in Williamston, NC a daughter of the late Clarence Sylvester Phelps and the late Callie Marie Williams Phelps. She retired from Little Cotton Manufacturing with more than 38 years of service to the company.
Surviving are her children, Darnell (fianc' Joey Teal) Brown of Morven, James (Donna) Lear of Wytheville, VA, Betty Sue (Charlie) Williams and Phillip (Dorothy) Lear both of Wadesboro; her grandchildren, Stephanie (Legrand) Dutton of Lilesville, Jamie (Lauren) Lear of Bisco, Mitchell (Renee') Brown, Susan Williams, Phillip Lear and Tyler Lear all of Wadesboro; her great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Katlyn, and Kenneth Brown, JC and Jessica Dutton, Makayla and Jada Williams; and her brother, Rhodes (Lillian) Phelps of Wallace, SC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, JB Lear and son-in-law, Charles Brown.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Richmond County Hospice and Anson Community Hospice, 1119 N US HWY 1, Rockingham, NC 28379.
