Frances Elizabeth Mowery

MORVEN - Frances Elizabeth Mowery, 88, died Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at her home. Funeral services will be 3:00pm Friday, October 14, 2016 at Shiloh United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park, Wadesboro. The family will greet friends from 6:00pm until 7:30pm Thursday at Leavitt Funeral Home and other times at the home. Frances was born June 3, 1928 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late Eugene Wilson Mowery and the late Jennie Turner Mowery. She worked for a number of years at Mt. Gilead Manufacturing prior to enrolling in beauty school and then she owned and operated Frances Beauty Shop in Morven for nearly 43 years. She was a life-long member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Todd Haire and her granddaughters, Lindsay Haire all of the home and Katie Patterson of Jacksonville, NC; her brother-in-law, David Culp of Morven; her nieces, Anita Mullis of Morven and Libby Adams of Snellville, GA and their families and a special friend and care-giver, Mary Gaddy of Morven. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister, James Mowery and Annie Sue Mowery Culp. Frances family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to staff of Hospice of Union County for the loving care their provided for her for the past two years.
