Wadesboro - Mr. Frank Benjamin Parson was born August 26, 1926 in Anson County, NC and was a son of the late Ed Parsons and the late Mary Montgomery Parsons. He went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 8, 2017. He was 91 years of age.
He confessed Christ at an early age and became a member of the familys home church, Parsons Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Lilesville. He later became a member of West Rocky Ford Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a trustee. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a Mason.
Surviving are his children, Juanita (Diro) Endsley, Mary Major and Larry (Joann) Parson all of Atlanta, GA and Gracie (James) Bernard of Philadelphia, PA; his daughter-in-law, Opal Parson of Atlanta, GA; his step-daughter, Ywvonnie (Robert) Glenn of Wadesboro, NC; his grandchildren, Maxine Butts, Curtis (Dionne) Parson, Ashia (Albert) Wimberly, Alferdo (Sherry) Parson, Christopher Patterson, Randolph (Brandy) Covington, Lacamela Copeland, Coretta King, Lawanna Johnson and McKeccie Clemons; 37 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren and a host of step-grandchildren and their families, as well as, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Essie Mae Parson and Hattie Parson; his sons, Frank Parson and Walter Parson; his step-daughter, Gwinzyel Bullock and his grandchildren, Henry Spruill, Tereon Bowie, Tavares Major and Elisha Parson.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Elizabethan Gardens Assisted Living where he was a resident for 7 years, to Monroe Rehabilitation where he was a resident for the last 7 months, to Hospice of Union County and to Melanie Tate of Monroe Rehabilitation for the wonderful care they gave Frank.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday, October 15, 2017 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home . The family will greet friends from 1:30pm until 2:00pm.
The interment will take place at 11:00am Monday, October 16, 2017 at the Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC..
