Gary Neal Cason

ANSONVILLE - Gary Neal Cason, of Indian Trail, NC, was born on September 21, 1959, in Wadesboro, NC, to the late Leroy and Mary Elizabeth Threadgill Cason. Gary peacefully entered his eternal rest on Tuesday July 30, 2024, at Atrium Hospital, Union, with living family by his side.  

Gary was educated in his home, in Ansonville NC. At an early age, he attended Rocky Mount A.M.E Zion Church in Ansonville, NC.  

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Leon Cason, Sr, Kenneth Wayne Cason, his sister Rosalind Deloice Cason Streeter, his grandparents, Nello and Mary Threadgill, and James and Glennie Cason. 

Gary was a very loving, happy and energetic person that never met a stranger. He had a smile and spirit that would light up any room. He loved cars, listening to music, honey buns were his favorite snack, and he enjoyed flipping pages in his magazines. If you ever met him, he would never forget you and he left a lifelong impression so that you never forgot him.  

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his brother William B. Cason of Ansonville, NC, a very special Nephew and Niece (Vernice and Katavia Rorie) of the home, who cared for him since 2013, after the passing of his mother. Also, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, August 11, 2024 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Rocky Mount AME Zion Church Cemetery in Ansonville.

Public viewing will be from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Saturday, August 10, 2024 at the funeral home.
