Gary Thomas Edwards, 79, of Gastonia passed away on August 30, 2023. He was born on June 21, 1944 in  Wadesboro, NC, a son of the late Homer Gilmore Edwards and Mary Alene Teal Edwards.

Gary was an Air Force Veteran. He was a simple man and could do a little bit of everything. Gary always had his hands in a project. He was a loving daddy and friend.

Gary is survived by his daughter, Leslie Edwards Harrison (John "J.D"); sisters, Mildred Drew and Mary Elizabeth "Lib" Honeycutt (George); mother of his daughter, Delores Marsh Burroughs (Jerry); and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Homer "Edwin" Edwards and Charles "Rodney" Edwards.           

The family will receive friends at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia from 9:30am until 10:30am on Saturday, September 2, 2023.

A funeral service will follow at 10:30am in the Founders Chapel.  Interment will follow in Gaston Memorial Park.
