Polkton - Mr. George Wade 'Butch' Baucom, Jr., 64, passed away for his glorious reunion on Saturday May 4, 2019 at Wadesboro Health and Rehabilitation in Wadesboro.
There will be a memorial service at 5:00pm Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Gleaning Mission Church in Oakboro with Pastor Steve Barbee, officiating. The family will greet friends for 30 minutes prior to the service.
A private burial will be in Rocky Mount Baptist Church Cemetery in Polkton.
Butch was born February 5, 1955 in Anson County, NC a son of Polly Broadway Baucom Efird and the late George Wade Baucom. He was a graduate of West Stanly High School in Albemarle and was retired from hotel management in Hayward, California.
At age 4, he was annointed by God to play the piano. He was a pianist, vocalist and writer of spiritual music. In his youth, he became pianist for the Singing Towers Gospel Group of Stanly County.
Surviving are his daughter, Seneca Price; grandchildren, Makayla and Casey great-grandchildren, Chloe and Stormie; his mother, Polly Efird and his sisters, Trudy Turner and husband, Tommy and Sharon Cullingford and his nieces and nephews and their families.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gleaning Mission Church, 21413 E 8th St Oakboro, NC 28129.
