George Robert Mr. Tatro

Lilesville - Mr. George Robert Tatro, 95, died Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Carolinas Medical Center Union in Monroe. There will be a memorial service at 1:00pm Saturday, August 13, 2016 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. The family will greet friends following the service. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Veteran's National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC. George was born May 3, 1921 in Elliott, Maine, a son of the late Leon Tatro and the late Myrtle Blanch Burgess. He was retired from the United States Army, having served during World War II and also worked with the Wadesboro Post Office. Surviving are his children, Robert Tatro of Monroe, Steven Tatro of Lancaster, SC, Paul Tatro of Wilmington, Nelson Tatro of the home, David Tatro and Beverly Macy both of Kernersville; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Knotts Tatro and his son, Michael Tatro. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Leavitt Funeral Home, P.O.
