WADESBORO - Mrs. Gladys Harrington Goodman, 86, died Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Carolinas Medical Center Union in Monroe.
Funeral services will be 3:00pm Sunday, October 25, 2015 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Swaringen and Rev. Steve Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park.
The family will greet friends from 4:00pm until 6:00pm Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the funeral home and other times at the home of her daughter.
Gladys was born February 23, 1929 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late Frank Gordon Harrington and the late Mary Elizabeth Gathings Harrington. She was retired from West Knitting Mills.
Surviving are her children, Betty Jo McCollum and Terry Lynn Goodman both of Wadesboro; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Goodman of Wadesboro; her grandchildren, Wendy (Tony) Ricketts, Kristi (Jack) Porten and Becky Flake all of Wadesboro; her great-grandchildren, McKayla Ricketts, Trace Ricketts Jordan Flake, Kamryn Flake, and her special friend, Brant Pugh of Peachland and her sisters, Ruby (Dewey) Sheppard of Lilesville and Dot (Jack) Smith of Haigerstown, MD. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Goodman, her son, Jerry Goodman and brothers, Prentice Harrington and Bruce Harrington, Sr.
The family would like express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Ambassador Health and Rehab and especially, Miranda Quick for the loving care they gave Gladys while she was a resident there.
