Gladys Williamson Mrs. Ratliff

Mrs. Gladys Williamson Ratliff, 82, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at her home. Funeral services will be 3:00pm Friday, March 28, 2014 at Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. W.T. 'Bo' Treadaway officiating. Interment will follow at Anson Memorial Park. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 2:00PM. Gladys was born in Anson County on June 24, 1931, the last surviving child of seven children born to the late Harvey Cleveland and Ollie Elizabeth Deese Williamson. She worked in several local textile mills for a number of years including West Knitting, Wade Mfg., Unity Mills and Hornwood, Inc. Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Guy W. Ratliff of the home; a daughter, Linda R. Martin (Johnny) and a son, Wesley Ratliff (Cindy) all of Wadesboro; 7 grandchildren, Michael Martin, Timmy Martin, Lori Strungis, Tracie Johnson, Jennifer Deges, Kevin Swails and Derick Swails; and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by a daughter, Arlene R. Swails. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110.
