Polkton - Mrs. Gladys Parker Ross, 97, died peacefully on Saturday, November 08, 2014 at her home.
Funeral services will be 2:00PM Tuesday in Rocky Mount Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Hill officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends after the service in the church's fellowship hall.
Gladys was born in Anson County on October 27, 1917, one of fourteen children born to Jesse Atlas and Frances Curlee Parker. She was married to the late Blonnie Ross who died in 1988. Gladys was the oldest living member of the Rocky Mount Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Ellis Ross (Gail) of Apex, and Robert Ross (Janet) of Polkton; two grandchildren, Michael Ross (Sharon) and Melanie Ross Parker (Shane); two step-grandchildren, Chris Burr and Kevin Burr (Wendy); 11 great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Karl Grube of Treasure Island, FL.
In addition to her parents and husband, Gladys was preceded in death by a daughter, Julia Ross Grube.
