On Friday, November 22, 2013, Glennie Johnson Kelly, 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was with her family at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Monroe.
Funeral services will be 7:00pm Tuesday, November 26, 2013 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with her son, Rev. LeGrand Kelly officiating. Private interment will be in Anson Memorial Park on Wednesday.
The family will greet friends on Tuesday, from 5:30pm until 6:45pm at the funeral home.
Glennie was born September 15, 1932 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late William Lawrence Johnson and the late Cora Lee Parker Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Kelly.
She was retired from Anson County Schools having worked in the cafeteria at Lilesville Elementary School for many years and also, along with her family owned and operated The Family Restaurant for a number of years in Wadesboro. She was a member of Living Praise Christian Ministries in Monroe.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Rev. LeGrand and Freida Kelly; her granddaughters and grandson-in-law, Starr and Brian Haigler and Joy Kelly and her great-granddaughters, Kayla and Kylie all of Monroe.
Also surviving are her brother and sisters, Arthur Johnson of Lilesville, Mildred Maree, Rachel Eddins and Rochelle Williams all of Wadesboro and Shirley Williams of Charlotte.
