Grace Baker Osborn

WADESBORO - Mrs. Grace Baker Osborn, 71, died Monday, February 20, 2017 at her home. Funeral services will be 11:00am Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Deep Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Perko and Rev. D.W. Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Leavitt Funeral Home and other times at the home. Grace was born July 18, 1945 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late Robert Eugene Baker and the late Martha Ellen Moore Baker Bowman. Her step-father was the late Clarence Bowman. She worked for a number of years at United Mills in Mt. Gilead but was most noted for keeping children in her home for more than 40 years. She was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband of 51 years, William Osborn of the home; her children, Leah (Neil) Powell, Flint (Jennifer) Osborn and Meredith (Garrett) Rape all of Wadesboro; her grandchildren, A.J. Powell, Hanna Osborn, Isabella Osborn, Abby Osborn, Aiden Rape and Jase Rape; her great-granddaughter, Paislee Powell and her sister and brother, Janice (Lawrence) Blalock and Billy Baker both of Wadesboro. In addition to her parents and step-father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Eddins. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to their church family at Deep Creek Baptist Church, Gentiva Home Health, Hospice of Union County and especially caregivers, Myrtle, Brandy, Monica and Tonya for the loving support and care given to Grace.
