HAMLET - Grace Taylor Galbreath was born June 5, 1944, in Maxton, NC to the late Henry Allen Taylor and Eva Mae McLaurin Taylor. Later, Grace relocated to Hamlet, NC. She passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at her home. She was 80 years old.  

Grace attended Monroe Avenue School, where she met and wedded the love of her life. Her life-long partner, Allen Junior Galbreath Sr. Grace loved her family. She worked in the lab at Hamlet Hospital. But soon figured out her place was at home with her family. Grace wanted to spend as much time with her loved ones as possible. On her final day, she was surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she adored. 

She was preceded in death by both her mother and father, Eva Mae and Henry Taylor; her brother Bruce Taylor, her sisters: Verdelle Murphy; Dorothy Ellerbe; Norciss Ingram and Currain Kirkwood, her sons, Allen Galbreath Jr. and Timothy Everett Galbreath, her grandson, Jermaine Rayshard Stroman-Galbreath and the love of her life Allen Junior Galbreath. 

Grace leaves to cherish fond memories two daughters, Kathy Galbreath and Pamela Galbreath (Late Moses) Wilson; two sons, Gregory Galbreath Sr. and Don (Cherie) Galbreath; Three Brothers. Henry Taylor, Dr. Gene Taylor, Dr. Robert Taylor; Five sisters, LorraineTodd, Linda Robinson, Leola Tatum, Joann Rutledge and Carrie Taylor; Granddaughters, Brittanee Galbreath, Ashlee Galbreath, Alexis Galbreath, Alesha Galbreath, and Myah Grace Williams; Grandsons, Gregory (DeErica) Galbreath, Mycah Wilson, Timothy (Ja’Tara) Galbreath, and Terrence (Leah) Galbreath; 12 great-grandchildren; Special family and friends Levon and Lela Brown, Kevisha Greene (Grace’s personal safety attendant and friend) A host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. 

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 30, 2024, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home in Wadesboro.

The public viewing will be from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Sunday, September 29, 2024, at the funeral home.

The family is the home on Signal Street in Hamlet.
