WADESBORO - Mrs. Gwendolyn Dawkins Dennis, 63, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Anson Community Hospital. The family will greet friends Thursday, March 8, 2012 from 2:00pm until 3:30pm at Leavitt Funeral Home with a graveside service following in Anson Memorial Park with Rev. Doug Moore officiating. Gwen was born November 16, 1948 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late Lester Charles and Katie Lett Dawkins. She had worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Wadesboro Nursing Home. Surviving are her children, Chad Dennis of Wadesboro and Sally (Kevin) Knopp of Lilesville; her grandchildren, Katie and T.W. Knopp; her sisters and brother, Rita (Edwin) Cornwell of Lilesville, Geneva (Bob) Lowery of Wadesboro and Charles Dawkins of Lancaster, SC. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Victoria Rommel and the staff of Anson Community Hospital for the loving and wonderful care they gave Gwen and her family.
