Wadesboro - Mr. Harold Kenneth Kenny Capel, Jr., age 66, died Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at his home.
Funeral services will be 2:00PM Saturday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Harry Workman and Rev. Jimmy Knotts officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the church one hour prior to the service beginning at 1PM.
Kenny was born in Anson County on January 25, 1950, a son of the late Harold Kenneth and Juanita Johnson Capel. Following his graduation from Wadesboro High School, Kenny joined the US Air Force. He was stationed in both the Philippines and Thailand and for a short time in Vietnam. Upon his honorable discharge, Kenny returned to Wadesboro and joined his familys farming operation. In time, Kenny began working for the Town of Wadesboros Water Department, eventually becoming the plant manager for the night shift so he could continue his farming duties during the day. After 25 years of service, he retired from the Town and except for one brief period of service with the Anson County Water Department devoted all his time to farming.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Moody Capel of the home; two children, Crystal Ryman (John) and Tony Napier (Jodi); four grandchildren, Toni, Hayley, Brice, and Aidan; and a sister, Nancy Capel of Wadesboro.
