Harry Eugene Mr. Gaddy

MORVEN - Mr. Harry Eugene Gaddy, 90, died Monday, December 29, 2014 at Woodridge Assisted Living Center in Monroe. Services will be 11:00am Saturday, January 10, 2015 by the graveside in Griffin Cemetery in Polkton with Rev. Bill Whitlow officiating. The family will greet friends beginning at 10:30am prior to the service at the graveside. Harry was born January 1, 1924 in Anson County, NC a son of the late Simeon McRae Gaddy and Emma Ethel Porter Gaddy. He was a graduate of Wadesboro High School and attended Wingate Junior College after returning from serving in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired from the Southern California Transit District.. Surviving are his wife, Faire Belle Tucker Gaddy; his sons, Harry E. 'Gene' Gaddy, Jr. and William M. 'Bill' Gaddy and wife, Elaine both of Los Angeles, CA; his grandchildren, Rachel and Jestin Gaddy both of Los Angeles, CA; his brother and sister, Clayton C. Gaddy of Kernersville and Margaret Helen Hamden of Cheraw, SC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, J.W., Ray, Ed and Hubert Gaddy, Betty Ruth Hamden and Emily Sue Finison. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3800 Shamrock Dr., Charlotte, NC 28215. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
