PEACHLAND - Mr.Harry O. Vaughan, 90, formerly of St. Albans, WV, died Monday, June 10, 2013 at Autumn Care of Marshville.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Thursday, June 13, 2013 at New Home Baptist Church with Dr. Tommy Ross officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Wednesday, June 12, 2012 at Leavitt Funeral Home, Wadesboro and other times at the home.
Harry was born April 25, 1923 in Clay, WV a son of the late Everett. and Gertie Belcher Vaughan. He was retired from Union Carbide with 33 years of service, a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II and a member of New Home Baptist Church.
Survivng are his son and daughter-in-law, Dick and Gail P. Vaughan of Peachland; his grandson, Seth Vaughan of Marshville; and his brother,J. E. Vaughan, Jr. of Clay, WV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Elza Cooper Vaughan; by his son, Tom Vaughan and by his brothers and sisters,Sonny, Eldis and Dallas Vaughan, Olive Shearer, Maxine Donohue and Dorla Truman.
Harry's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Autumn Care of Marshville for the loving care they gave him for the past three years.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, New Home Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1617 New Home Church Rd., Peachland, NC 28133.
