Harvey C. Hobby Mr. Streater, Jr

Wadesboro - Mr. Harvey C. 'Hobby' Streater, Jr., 69, died Sunday, September 4, 2016 at his home. There will be a memorial service at 4:00pm Wednesday, September 7, 2016 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Hobby was born December 30, 1946 in Anson County, NC a son of the late Harvey C. Streater and the late Virginia Thompson Streater. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam War and was the recipient of the Bronze Star. He was a retired brick mason. Surviving are his wife, Susan McInnis Streater of the home; his children, Kenny (Misty) Streater of Polkton, William (Carrie) Streater of Wadesboro, Jamie (Cora) Streater of Myrtle Beach, SC, Ginny Ann (Mitch) Sellers of Hamlet and Maggie Rose Streater of the home; 8 grandchildren; his sister, Shirley Kalk of Reno, NV; his mother-in-law, Nancy McInnis and his brothers-in-law, Richard McInnis and Michael McInnis all of Rockingham. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 West Roosevelt Blved., Monroe, NC 28110 or to Mt. Beulah Baptist Church, 3373 Country Club Rd., Wadesboro, NC 28170.
