POLKTON Mrs. Hazel Deese Adams, 72, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Atrium Health in Monroe, NC.
Funeral services will be 3:00pm Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Oakdale Baptist Church with Rev. Arnold Jackson and Rev. Tim Helms officiating. Interment will follow in Griffin Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 1:30pm until 3:00pm Wednesday at the church and other times at the home.
Hazel was born January 22, 1947 in Chesterfield County, SC a daughter of the late Watt Thomas Deese and the late Bessie Lee Purvis Deese. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant and had worked for a number of years at Meadowview Terrace Assisted Living and later at Olive Branch Assisted Living.
She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and a former member of Oakdale Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, of 31 years, Jerry Adams; her sons, Archie Lee (Sue) Henry, Jr. of Stanfield and Randy Lee (Kim Prevatte) Henry of Marshville; her daughter of the heart, Kandi (Dale) Hasty of Peachland; her grandchildren, Tyler Shane Henry, Ashley S. Henry, Jessica Nicole Henry and Shelby Rae Hasty; four great-grandchildren and her nieces and nephews and their families.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Junior McKenzie, Arthur McKenzie, Thomas Deese, Alice Quick, Catherine Lee, Lilly Watts, Margie Lockler, Betty Jean Deese and Myrtle Yow.
Hazel will be remembered for her caring and compassionate heart and how she touched the lives of the residents of the assisted living facilities she worked in.
