Henry Thomas Mr. Harward

WADESBORO - Mr. Henry Thomas Harward, 75, died Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center Union. There will be a memorial service at 3:00pm Sunday, December 14, 2014 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Mr. Ken Goins, CLP, Rev. Carl Dumford and Rev. D.W. Carpenter officiating. The family will greet friends Sunday beginning at 2:00pm until time for the service at the funeral home. Henry was born October 24, 1939 in Anson County, NC a son of the late Frank Thomas and Neta Helms Harward. He was a graduate of Ansonville High School and was retired from Coffing Hoists in Wadesboro. He was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church, Wadesboro where he served as an Elder and Deacon. He enjoyed playing and coaching softball and was an avid fisherman, enjoing trips to Topsail Pier with his brothers. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Shirley Trexler Harward of the home; his children, Pam Harward Mihalyfi and Marty of Clayton and Tommy Harward and Peggy of Wadesboro; and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Everette and Mary Lou Harward of Ansonville and Johnny and Dee Harward of Charlotte. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 351, Wadesboro, NC 28170. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
