Herbert Eli Mr. Shankle, Jr

WADESBORO - Mr. Herbert Eli Shankle, Jr., 85, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Ambassador Health and Rehab in Wadesboro. Funeral services will be 5:00pm Wednesday, July 31, 2013 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Goudelock officiating. Interment will follow in Jowers Cemetery. The family will greet friends Tuesday, July 30, 2013 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home and other times at the home. Herbert was born September 13, 1927 in Richmond County, NC a son of the late Herbert Eli Shankle and the late Mishie Green Shankle. He was retired from Wade Manufacturing with 40 years of service and a member of Wadesboro Church of God. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Minnie Williams Shankle of the home; his children, Herbert (Kathy) Shankle, III of Charlotte, Louise (Ebrahim) Moradian of Washington, MI, Mishie (Roderick) Thomas of Peachland and Esta (Keith) O'Neal of Oakboro; his grandchildren, Joseph (Lena) Moradian of Washington, MI, Edward (Christina) Moradian of Sterling Heights, MI, Mishele Thomas of Peachland and Tennille Shankle of Charlotte; his great-grandchildren, Luke and Tena Shankle and Mya Moradian; and his brother, Newnan Shankle.
