Wadesboro - Mr. Howard Lisk, Sr., 88, died Friday, December 5, 2014, at his home surrounded by family and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00PM Monday at Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Bryan Burris officiating. Entombment will follow in Anson Memorial Park. The family will greet friends before the service beginning at 1:00PM on Monday.
Howard was born in Richmond County on January 15, 1926, one of seven children born to the late George Washington and Ruby Burris Lisk. Howard worked 24 years with Sikes Brothers Construction Co. before he and his sons started Howard Lisk and Sons Trucking in 1973. He retired in 2001 turning the operation over to his sons. Howard was married to the late Virginia Benton Lisk and was preceded in death by two sons, Howard Lisk, Jr. and Jerry Lisk.
Survivors include a son, Bruce Lisk (Vickie) of Oakboro; a daughter, Linda Lisk Burr (Casey) of Georgetown, SC; two daughter-in-laws, Sherry Lisk and Glenda Lisk; eleven grandchildren, Tracie Miller, Stacie Stoker, Daniel Lisk, Megan Austin, Chris Burr, Jodie Lambert, Ben Lisk, Jon Lisk, Kristie Tucker, Sarah Hildreth, and Colton Lisk; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Howard was passionate about his trucking company and also spending time on the ocean in his fishing boat, 'Daddy's Choice.'
