WADESBORO - Mr. Howze McLendon Mac Hardison, 82, died Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. There will be a memorial service at 12 Noon Thursday, August 11, 2016 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. The family will greet friends following the service. A private inurnment will be in Eastview Cemetery. Mac was born October 17, 1933 in Anson County, NC a son of the late Hugh Bennett Hardison and the late Caroline Ashe Hardison. He was retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation with 43 years of service and was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Betty Hough Hardison of the home; his son, Bob Hardison of Wadesboro; his daughter-in-law, Selene Lowe Hardison of Wadesboro; his grandchildren, William Hardison of Monroe, Lauren Hardison of Wadesboro and Marissa (Michael) Thomas of Polkton; his great-grandchildren, Summer, Waylon, Noah and Christian and his sister, Peggy Pruette of Raleigh. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Bill Hardison and brother, Hugh B. Hardison, Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 942, Wadesboro, NC 28170 or the Boys and Girls Home at Lake Waccamaw, PO Box 127, Lake Waccamaw, NC 28450. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
