Irene Davis Mrs. Seago

Wadesboro - Mrs. Irene Davis Seago, 84, died suddenly on Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Thursday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Hunter officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park. The family will greet friends at Leavitt Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00PM. One of three children, Irene was born in Anson County on February 26, 1930 to the late Henry Spofford and Elsie McRae Davis. She was retired from the Hampton B. Allen Library and for a number of years operated their bookmobile. Irene was a longtime member of First Baptist Church where she faithfully served in the Chancel Choir, the Woman's Missionary Union, as a Sunday school teacher and as a vacation bible school volunteer. She was married to Mr. Furman 'Bud' Seago who died in 2000. Irene was also preceded in death by her only sister, Helen Faulkner in 2009. Survivors include two sons, John Seago and his wife, Patricia, of Wadesboro and Michael Seago and his wife, Johnnie, of Lexington, SC; one granddaughter, Erika Roth of Lexington, SC; and one brother, Mack Davis of Wadesboro.
