ANSONVILLE - Mr. Jack Mac Brown, 59, died Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Carolinas HealthCare System Stanly in Albemarle. Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, July 18, 2016 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in McBee Cemetery, McBee, SC. Officers with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Honor Guard will provide honors during the service. The family will greet friends from 4:00pm until 6:00pm Sunday, July 17, 2016 at the funeral home. Jack was born October 11, 1956 in Byerly Hospital in Hartsville, SC a son of the late Mark Anthony Brown and the late Margaret Pigge Brown. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was most proud of his service with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department where he retired in 2007. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved animals of all kinds and was a Civil War buff. He was a kind, loving man who was loved by all who met him and he was indeed a true Southern Gentleman. Surviving are his wife of nearly 26 years, Lisa Davis Brown of the home; his brother, Jan Brown of Hartsville, SC; his sister, Mary (Jeff) Hugo of Belleville, IL; his sister-in-law, Sherry (John) Knight of McBee, SC; his niece and nephews, Janna Brown, Will (Michelle) Porter, Matthew (Nicole) Hugo, Jason (Stephanie) Hugo, Alex Hugo and Thad Brown; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Olivia, Taylor and Bill Porter and Gabby Hugo and many beloved friends and fur friends as well. Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Betty Perry Davis of Abbeville, SC; his sister-in-law, Lynn (Jerald) Proctor; nieces and nephew, Chrissy (Rodney) Cline, Candice Marie Davis and Jerald Wesley Proctor, II; great nieces and nephews, Kayleigh Moody, Meredith, Madison and Mason Cline, Kyra Addalee and Jerald Wesley Proctor, III. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jack and oldest brother, Bill Porter. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the animal rescue organization of the donor's choice. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
