Mr. Jack Lancaster, 82, of Norwood, NC, and Okeechobee, FL, passed away on March 4, 2016, at the W.G. Hefner Medical Center Liberty Lane Hospice House in Salisbury. Born December 25, 1933 in Woodruff, SC, Jack was the son of Boyd and Leatha Crowe Lancaster. He was a proud veteran of the US Air Force and was retired after many years with Alltel Communications in Wadesboro, NC. Memorial services will be private. Survivors include his beloved wife and sweetheart of 47 years, Genelle Moore Lancaster of the home; his daughter and son-in-law, Licia and Neal Brandt of Indian Land, SC; two grand-daughters and their families, Jessica (Allen) Glover of Richmond Hill, GA and Karen and Jeremy OHare of Aurora, NE; and two great-grandchildren, Anna Grace and Elliot Glover. Also surviving is a sister, Shirley Smith of Enoree, SC; and a brother, L.G. Lancaster of Chesnee, SC. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by a son, James Driggers (2013); and four brothers, R.P. Crowe (Jeanette), Gene Lancaster (Valerie), Cecil Lancaster, and Charles Lancaster (Louise). Jack loved life, traveling the United States in their motorhome, enjoying good times with their many traveling friends, and soaking up the beauty of Lake Tillery from his own porch. The family offers a special thank you to the Veterans Liberty Lane Hospice House for their loving care and support in his last days on this earth. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the W.G. Hefner Medical Center, Liberty Lane Hospice House, 1601 Brenner Ave., Salisbury, NC 28144. No service information has been added.
