Jackie Floyd Taylor

WADESBORO – On Tuesday, March 26, 2024, Mr. Jackie Floyd Taylor, 73, passed away peacefully at Atrium Health Union in Monroe.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, March 29, 2024, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Ricketts and Rev. W.T. “Bo” Treadaway officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Anson Memorial Park.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.

Jackie was born October 8, 1950, in Anson County, NC and was a son of the late Charlie Jack Taylor and the late Hazel Ray Cowick Taylor. He was a graduate of West Montgomery  High School and a veteran of the United States Army. Prior to retirement he owned and operated Taylor Flooring, installing floor covering.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman; enjoyed gardening, raising chickens, supporting his grandchildren in their sporting activities and just simply taking it easy while enjoying Long Island Ice Teas with Joe.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Kenneth Paul Taylor (Shanna) of Newport News, VA, Christy Joy Taylor of Myrtle Beach, SC and Renee Taylor Dennis (Benny) of Wadesboro; his grandchildren, Sydney Long of Myrtle Beach, SC, Zachary Taylor of Newport News, VA, Kelsey Brown (Harris Elder) of Albemarle and Kaitlyn Brown (Bryson Stogner) of Lilesville; 2 great-grandchildren and his sister, Brenda Howard (Dwight) of Mooresville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Kenneth Brown.
