James Thomas Mr. Allen

Wadesboro - Mr. James Thomas Allen was born December 28, 1942 in Stanly County, NC to the late Robert J. Allen and Priscilla Lindsey Allen. He departed his earthly life on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at his home. He received Christ as his savior many years ago. He had worked in the logging and pulpwood business and later worked with Starling Construction. He leaves to cherish his loving memories; one son, Willie J. Lindsey of Monroe, NC; one brother-in-law, James (Calvin) Gatewood of Wadesboro, NC; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a very special niece, Becky Richardson who helped as his caregiver. Also surviving is a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his special friend, Marie Bennett and by his son, John T. Lindsey. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday, August 24, 2014 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Bessie Chapel AME Zion Church Cemetery, Lilesville.
