James Carl Corthren, Jr

Mr. James Carl 'JC' Corthren, Jr., 64, of Polkton died Thursday, March 1, 2012 at his home. Graveside services will be 3:00pm Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Williams Cemetery in Polkton. The family will greet friends following the service. He was born March 22, 1947 in Anson County, NC a son of the late James Carl and Rosa Floyd Corthren. His sister, Ann Oxendine preceded him in death. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War and was retired from the United States Postal Service in Charlotte with 30 years of service. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing his entire life. Surviving are his daughter, Caroline Prochnaue and husband, Ken of Asheboro; his son, James C. 'Jay' Corthren, III and wife, Katie of Charlotte; his grandchildren, Meghan and Joshua Prochnau and Lily Corthren and his niece and nephew. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
