LILESVILLE - Mr. James Thomas Dean, 68, died Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Carolinas Medical Center Union in Monroe. There will be a memorial service 2:00pm Saturday, September 19, 2015 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. James was born November 4, 1946 in Anson County, NC a son of the late Gilbert Chester Dean and the late Mary Virginia Bowman Dean. He was a graduate of Anson High School and Central Piedmont Community College. He was owner and operator of Dean's Tree Service and was reared in Lilesville United Methodist Church and was supportive of the Lilesville Charge of the United Methodist Church. Surviving are his sons, James Dean, Jr. of Greensboro and Stan (Melissa) Dean of Norwood; and their mother, Peggy Dean Coble of Lilesville; his grandchildren, Savannah, Karter and Jace Dean; his sisters and brothers, Carolyn Ingram and Kenneth 'Ken' Dean both of Lilesville, Betty Jean (Don) Bowers of Norwood and Charles Dean of Charleston, SC and his nieces and nephews and their families. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lilesville Charge of the United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 452, Lilesville, NC 28091. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
