WADESBORO - Mr. James Albert Gaddy, Sr., 58, died Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Anson Community Hospital. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday, February 21, 2014 at Greater St. Mark Church of Deliverance with Apostle Leonard Williams officiating. He was born July 9, 1956 in Anson County, NC a son of Ethel Cole Gaddy and the late Willie Gaddy. He was known as 'Woo', 'Soldier' and 'Bull Dog'. James Albert Gaddy was a graduate of Bowman High School and was honorably discharged from the United States Army. He had worked with H.F. Marsh and Son in Wadesboro for more than 30 years prior to the closing of their business and was considered 'the best welder around.' He loved to have fun and there was never a dull moment in his life. He loved to entertain and never met a stranger. He had a caring and giving heart and loved to help others in need. He was always a man of God no matter what. He was a member of Greater St. Mark of Deliverance in Wadesboro until his death. He was a loving and wonderful husband to his wife of 36 years, Fairy Lee Forte Gaddy; and a wonderful father to his beautiful children; Eric Gaddy (Dinisha); Nina Preston (James) and Monique Gaddy (Donald) all of Wadesboro; grandchildren, Fairy Gaddy, whom he helped raise from an infant, D'Mikal Gaddy, Dream Sturdivant, Zaylen Rorie, and Zamariah Rorie; his mother, Ethel C. Gaddy of Wadesboro; his God-father, Marshall Little of Wadesboro; his sisters, Barbara Timmons (Jasper) of Polkton, Willie M. Douglas of Wadesboro; his brothers, Robert Lee Gaddy and Gary Lee Gaddy (Cathy) both of Wadesboro, Danny Gaddy (Amanda) of Denver, NC; his very best friends, James and Shirley Garris, Cynthia Melton, Benjy Brasington and Leroy all of Wadesboro; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son, James Jr. Gaddy and by a brother and sister, Johnny Cole and Dianne Gaddy. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
