Polkton - Mr. James Lee Horne was born April 30, 1932 in Anson County, NC and was a son of the late Levander and Cleo Maske Horne of Thomasville, NC. He departed his life on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Carolinas Medical Center Union in Monroe, NC.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his children, Barbara Ann Davis, James E. (Keyonna) Horne, Crawford Lee Horne, Rayvon (Margaret) Horne, Victoria (Jesse) Horne, Rodney Ray, Sabrina (Bruce) Ingram, Jerry (Sina) Todd and Scotty (Cynthia) Horne; his grandchildren, Shawn (Mitchell) Young, Jalonda (Coby) Polk, Tameka Horne, Brittney Horne, Marvin Medley, Victor (Veronica) Medley, Curtis Horne, Karissa Horne, Norland Ingram, Gena Davis, Ava, Jasmine, Jaquavius Booker, Johntavius Booker, DeJohn Pemberton, Veronica Smith and Jayden Horne; 12 great-grandchildren; his sister, Magdelene Horne Beasley; sisters-in-law, Sarah Lotharp and Katie Horne and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends, including step-children, Calvin, Dianne, Ronnie, Jacob and Samantha Bennett and Jerry (Donna) Caudle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Thomas Horne; brothers, Jesse and Virgil Horne; son, Kenneth Horne; special friend of 20 years, Betty Joe Cuthbertson Caudle and Mary Helen Little Bennett.
James was educated in the public schools of Anson County and accepted Christ at an early age at Cedar Hill AME Zion Church in Ansonville. He attended Fairview Church of God where he retired as custodian. He worked at the brickyard in Thomasville, Macal Furniture in New Salem, All-star Mills in Albemarle, Edwards Wood Products, where he retired.
Funeral services will be 2:00PM Friday, May 12, 2017 at Fairview Church of God in the Burnsville Community. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
